How to make your perfume last longer
“It smelled wonderful in the morning, and by lunch it was gone.” If that sounds familiar, the fragrance may not be the problem. Heat, humidity, dry skin and a few everyday habits all shorten how long a perfume lasts. These are the tips we share at our counter.
1. Spray after a bath, on moisturised skin
Fragrance clings to skin that is clean and hydrated. Spray right after a bath, once you are dry, and use an unscented moisturiser first if your skin is dry.
2. Aim for pulse points
Spray the neck, behind the ears, the inside of the wrists and the inside of the elbows. These warm spots lift the scent gently through the day.
3. Don’t rub your wrists together
It is a habit almost everyone has, and it makes the fragrance’s opening fade faster. Spray, then leave it.
4. Spray your clothes too, carefully
Fabric holds fragrance longer than skin. A light spray on a scarf, jacket or the inside of a collar keeps the scent around you. Spray from about 15–20 cm away and test delicate fabrics first.
5. Spray a little on your hair
Hair holds scent well. Mist your hairbrush or spray into the air and walk through it. Avoid spraying directly and often, because alcohol can dry hair.
6. Layer with attar
Perfume oil anchors a spray. Dab a drop of the attar of your fragrance on your pulse points, then spray the perfume over it. Every Raza fragrance comes as both, so you can layer the same scent. Read how to apply attar.
7. Choose the right fragrance for the season
Some fragrance families naturally last longer than others:

8. Keep a small bottle with you
A 30 ml perfume or a 6 ml attar fits in a pocket or bag, so one quick touch-up in the afternoon keeps you smelling fresh until evening.
9. Store bottles away from heat and light
Heat and sunlight break down fragrance. Keep bottles closed, upright and in a cool, dark place, not in the bathroom, where steam and heat come and go, and never in a parked car.
10. Remember: you stop noticing your own scent
After a while your nose gets used to your fragrance and stops registering it, even when people around you can still smell it. Before you reapply, ask someone close to you.
